Texas has one of the harshest abortion bans in the country, with no exceptions for rape or if a pregnant woman’s life is at risk, threatening doctors with jail time. </li><li>In contrast, as a doctor, Ada knows that personal healthcare decisions should be made by women, their families, and healthcare providers. In Congress, Ada will:<ul><li>Allow women to control their own private medical decisions and end the criminalization of reproductive healthcare providers.</li><li>Fight to guarantee our rights and freedoms – including healthcare options like abortion.</li><li>Allow women to access the life-saving care they need.</li></ul></li></ul>

ALAMO, TX - Dr. Ada Cuellar’s campaign for Texas’ 15th Congressional District reported today that its filing to the Federal Election Commission for its first quarterly finance report shows nearly a quarter million dollars. That first filing, showing total receipts of $249,608.51 is already nearly four times greater than the total receipts reported by the Democratic challenger in 2021, and even well ahead of the same challenger’s total receipts in the comparable period in 2023.“Texans are starting to see the real world impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill that will cost as many as 14 million Americans their health insurance to pay for tax cuts for billionaires,” said Dr. Ada Cuellar. “As an Emergency Room doctor, I’ve seen patients avoid the treatment they need because of the cost, and they and their families are why I’m running. AUSTIN, TX - Dr. Ada Cuellar issued the following statement on today’s votes in the House of Representatives on several funding bills:&nbsp;“Today’s votes in the House of Representatives on funding bills are a reminder that Congress has largely stopped doing its job. The Republican majority has refused to conduct oversight or to hold Donald Trump and his Administration accountable. The vote on Homeland Security department funding keeps ICE funded higher than most countries’ militaries, with only minor tweaks. Monica De La Cruz’s vote for the DHS funding bill is a rubber stamp that tells the Trump Administration it can continue to abuse its authority, and to recklessly send in masked agents to indiscriminately target our communities. That the vote happened just after we learned from a whistleblower that ICE told its agents to disregard Fourth Amendment protections against entering homes without a judicial warrant is telling.
