Dr. Ada Cuellar Formally Files to Be On the March 3, 2026 Ballot for the Democratic Nomination for Congress in Texas’s 15th Congressional District

AUSTIN, TX - In the state’s capital today, Dr. Ada Cuellar formally filed her candidacy to be the Democrat running for Congress in the 15th Congressional District of Texas. Candidates running for an office that covers more than one county, such as for Congress, are required to file with the Texas Democratic Party for the March 3rd, 2026 primary. Accompanied by her daughter, Dr. Cuellar traveled from the Rio Grande Valley to Austin Tuesday morning to personally file her candidacy at the Texas Democrats’ headquarters.
“Voters in South Texas deserve real representation in Washington, someone focused on what they most care about,” said Dr. Ada Cuellar. “I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, and I know what families in the 15th district are struggling with. I am filing my candidacy today, committed to standing up for those same families by fighting to lower costs, to expand access to health care, to invest in education, and to help bring good jobs to our region. Monica De La Cruz has been a puppet for Donald Trump, and I’m excited to take this campaign to the voters of the 15th district who are ready to fire her.”
Dr. Cuellar’s formal filing is accompanied by a series of digital ads highlighting her background and experience serving her community. The spots are running through digital channels to voters across the 15th district, and include a focus on better wages, affordable health care, and education:

Tax Cuts for Billionaires Don’t Teach a Child to Read

Dr. Cuellar is a working mom, an emergency room doctor who is also earning a law degree, and an independent thinker ready to fight for a better future.Throughout her campaign she has hammered away at the Republican incumbent for being a Trump puppet and voting for the One Big Beautiful Bill’s steep cuts to health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
Two weeks ago, the campaign also launched a video ad, The Only One Fighting for Women’s Health Care, drawing a strong contrast with both her primary and general election opponents.
