Statement by Dr. Ada Cuellar on Supreme Court Ruling Allowing Texas’ Gerrymandered Maps
ALAMO, TX - Dr. Ada Cuellar, the Democrat running for Texas’ 15th Congressional District, issued the following statement on today’s Supreme Court ruling that overturns a district court and allows Texas Republicans’ 2025 map to be used for the 2026 midterm elections:
“The Supreme Court today showed just how far extreme partisanship has taken hold in Washington while good governance has been thrown out. Now more than ever, we need to restore the system of checks and balances the nation's founders intended. Texas's 15th Congressional district is ready to fire Trump puppet Monica De La Cruz for rubber stamping that extreme partisanship while hard working South Texas families struggle with the higher costs of groceries and health care. The Supreme Court ruling tried to raise doubts about whether Texas Republicans considered race in manipulating the district lines, but in this majority Latino district we know who Trump and his Texas cronies have been targeting all along. Voters of the new 15th district deserve real representation in Washington and we won't be silenced.”
