Dr. Ada Cuellar Statement on State of the Union

AUSTIN, TX - Dr. Ada Cuellar issued the following statement ahead of Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress tomorrow:

“We don’t need to wait until tomorrow to know what’s wrong with the State of the Union, it’s Donald Trump. Even after the Supreme Court declared his tariffs illegal, he is insisting on a workaround that disregards the Court’s intent and the economic damage the tariffs have done. He won’t even acknowledge that South Texans are paying more for products because of his tariffs, nor that his Big Ugly Bill took away healthcare from so many to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and for ICE’s overreach. Every day we hear of a new controversy with ICE, including ICE involvement in a shooting of a U.S. citizen on South Padre Island last year that they tried to cover up. And his rhetoric on Venezuela and Iran will still represent interventions and foreign entanglements even MAGA didn’t vote for, and not surprisingly, neither conflict will lower the cost of groceries for Americans. Trump puppets in Congress like Monica De La Cruz have enabled him by failing to stand up to his extreme agenda. That’s why voters want someone to fight for them, and why our campaign has so much momentum heading into the primary –  voters know Bobby Pulido isn't willing to stand up to Trump. We can win in November, and we will.”
