Dr. Ada Cuellar Statement on Tuesday’s Elections
ALAMO, TX - Democratic candidate for Congress in Texas’s 15th Congressional District Dr. Ada Cuellar issued the following statement on today’s elections:
“Voters across the country sent a strong message yesterday. I’m running for Congress because Rep. Monica De La Cruz voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill that slashed health care funding and SNAP nutrition benefits – all to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Hardworking Texans don’t have representation in this district right now, because Monica De La Cruz will only do what Donald Trump tells her to do. This is also a race with national implications. The prop 50 election in California was a response to what Texas Republicans did when they manipulated congressional districts to find Donald Trump five more Republican seats in Congress. Here in Texas 15, we Texans are taking matters into our own hands. Voters here want to elect someone who will fight for them in Congress, which is exactly what I’m going to do. Latino voters played a major role in elections yesterday, sending a strong message about the direction of our country and we’re going to flip this 80 percent Hispanic district next November."
