PRESS RELEASE

Dr. Ada Cuellar’s Campaign Launches Digital Ad Introducing the Only Candidate in TX-15 Fighting for Women’s Health Care & Reproductive Freedom

ALAMO, TX - Today, Dr. Ada Cuellar for Congress launched a digital ad highlighting her experience as a doctor, and emphasizing she is the only candidate running in Texas’s 15th congressional district fighting for women’s health care and to codify Roe v. Wade. The ad comes as news continues to emerge of women dying in Texas due to the state’s draconian law that hampers health care during a miscarriage or when complications arise in high risk pregnancies. The video spot shows Monica De La Cruz’s statement celebrating the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs that ended Roe v. Wade, and an excerpt of Bobby Pulido emphasizing his anti-abortion position in line with De La Cruz.

“I’m running because South Texas deserves real representation in Washington that listens to voters, and that works every single day to deliver for them,” said Dr. Cuellar. “Women in Texas shouldn’t fear that a miscarriage could be a death sentence, yet neither Monica De La Cruz nor Bobby Pulido are willing to stand up for them. I will.”

Dr. Cuellar is a working mom, an emergency room doctor who is also earning a law degree, and an independent thinker ready to fight for a better future.Throughout her campaign she has hammered away at the Republican incumbent for being a Trump puppet and voting for the One Big Beautiful Bill’s steep cuts to health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.

In The Only One Fighting for Women’s Health Care, Dr. Cuellar delivers a powerful direct to camera message, “women have died because doctors were afraid to treat them during a miscarriage,” adding that she is the only one running in this district who is going to fight for women’s health care, and to codify Roe v. Wade.

Dr. Cuellar for Congress Digital Ad: Women have died because doctors were afraid to treat them during a miscarriage. No woman should have to die young from a miscarriage. No teenager should have to leave Texas for urgent medical care. I'm the only one running in this district who's going to fight to codify Roe v. Wade. I'm the only one in this race who's going to fight for women's health care. No politician should stand between a woman and her doctor. I'm Doctor Ada Cuellar, the Democrat for Congress.

Since Texas’ draconian abortion ban was enacted in 2021, Texas’ maternal mortality rate has risen substantially, with doctors delaying medical intervention for fear of being prosecuted, even when a miscarriage happens naturally.

“What I hear from voters every single day is they want a representative in Washington who actually fights for them,” added Dr. Cuellar. “As an emergency room doctor, I’ve seen firsthand how devastating Texas’ draconian abortion ban has been on the lives of mothers across our state. A miscarriage shouldn’t be a death sentence because politicians stood between women and their doctors.”

The spots are being served through digital and social media platforms to all Democratic primary voters in the 15th district beginning today.
